Cellply appoints Dr. Priyanka Dutta-Passecker as Chief Business Officer to drive global commercial expansion

BOLOGNA, Italy — 3 June 2026 — Cellply, the Italian deep-tech innovator developing advanced analytical tools for cell therapy and regenerative medicine, today announced the appointment of Dr. Priyanka Dutta-Passecker as Chief Business Officer (CBO).

The appointment comes at a pivotal moment for Cellply following its recently announced €7.15 million funding round to accelerate the international expansion of its flagship VivaCyte® platform and advance next-generation automated quality control solutions for advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs).

As Chief Business Officer, Dr. Dutta-Passecker will lead Cellply’s global commercialization strategy, strategic partnerships, market expansion initiatives, and business development activities. Her appointment reinforces Cellply’s ambition to become a global leader in analytical tools supporting the rapidly growing cell and gene therapy industry.

Dr. Priyanka Dutta-Passecker brings more than 18 years of international leadership experience spanning biotechnology, regenerative medicine, advanced therapies, and life sciences commercialization. With a PhD in Neuroscience from Trinity College Dublin and dual Executive MBAs from WU Executive Academy in Austria and the Carlson School of Management in the United States, she combines deep scientific expertise with strategic and operational leadership. Throughout her career, Dr. Dutta-Passecker has successfully transformed innovative healthcare technologies into scalable commercial ventures. Her leadership experience includes CEO and Board member positions across Europe, including Healiva SA and Neurolentech GmbH, alongside senior global leadership roles at Novartis, UCB, Bioseutica, and Axol Bioscience. Dr. Dutta-Passecker has also been recognized among Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneurial Winning Women (EMEIA) and co-founded the WU EA Female Leaders Network, one of Central Europe’s largest communities supporting women in leadership.
